About the Role Cambio is looking for a Software Engineer (90-day contract-to-hire) who is excited about AI and fintech innovations to be part of our energetic team. This role involves leading the creation and improvement of Aviary and our other AI-powered products, from scratch. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and launch features that enhance our AI skills and increase our market presence.

This will be hybrid role, based in the New York area. Expectation is 1-2 days in the office and 3-4 days remote.

Responsibilities

Design user-friendly interfaces that enable non-technical users to use AI in their work
Improve and expand Aviary's AI capabilities, focusing on creating smooth, natural interactions for credit union members.
Work on the full stack of technologies, including our private large language models, to provide scalable and secure AI solutions.
Investigate the latest capabilities of LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation, and AI agents. Lead development projects from research and prototyping to production.
Adapt the tech stack and architecture to scale to the growing needs of our customers.
Help shape the team culture, as well as internal tools and processes.
Take part in the design and architecture of new features, focusing on automation, scalability, and user experience.
Be involved in all stages of product development, from idea to deployment and support, ensuring high quality and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience in software development (including internships), with a demonstrated history of building and deploying AI or fintech solutions.
Experience with AI technologies, especially in natural language processing, machine learning, or related fields, is very desirable.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment, with a high level of independence and responsibility.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with an inventive and analytical way of overcoming challenges.
