The role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Electrical / Electronic workshop technician based in the University of Bristol, Faculty of Engineering’s workshop.
What will you be doing?
- Designing / Manufacturing / Testing / Installing / Commissioning of bespoke laboratory equipment / machinery.
- Supporting students and staff by helping them develop their knowledge, skills and techniques.
- Instructing / training students and staff in the safe use of hand tools and workshop machinery, as required, to enable teaching and research projects.
- Maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, machines and tools.
You should apply if
The ideal candidate will be an experienced electrical and electronics technician with a sound practical working knowledge of current design tools, manufacturing processes and safety standards. You will enjoy first principles engineering and advising and supporting both expert and novice customers (research staff and students respectively).
