Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 within UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy & Sports Science
As the 'boom' in biohacking, lifelogging and data fetishism shows no signs of abating, the aim of ‘Cerberus-The Wearable Watchdog’ is to empower users of wearable technologies (e.g., Fitbit bands, Garmin devices and Apple Watch) with a better understanding of their own health and well-being regarding:
1) what these devices can measure accurately;
2) what is actually worth measuring.
Cerberus will evaluate the validity of wearable devices and the credibility of claims made by companies about currently available products and biometrics. The three 'heads' of the project include.
1) A synthesis of existing research
2) Validation of products
3) Understanding users’ experiences
