THE PROJECT
The University of Essex in partnership with Bartech offers an exciting opportunity to a graduate to work in a KTP project that aims to embed a culture of entrepreneurialism within the company, as well as marketing expertise, in order to maximise opportunities to diversify into new product design and enable the company to establish itself as an original equipment manufacturer.
Bartech, established since 1987, has been serving the marine, oil and gas and power generation sector globally with maintenance, spares and solutions for mechanical equipment, primarily critical diesel engines. They have established a global reputation for reliable, customer focused high level solutions and see the KTP as an opportunity to strengthen this approach.
This post is fixed term for 28 months and is based at the Bartech’s offices.
DUTIES OF THE POST
The duties of the post will include:
- Carry out a detailed assessment and evaluation of data management and business innovation practices within and outside the company
- Carry out a detailed assessment of marketing competency and evaluation of marketing strategies, and develop a marketing plan
- Implement and monitor the deliverables of the above with a view to developing an entrepreneurial culture, including personal development within the business
- Participate in industrial events or academic conferences and disseminate project outcomes to the wider community.
- Follow KTP project objectives and requirements for the role (purchasing, liaison, reporting, communicating, etc.)
KEY REQUIREMENTS
The post holder must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience of operating processes and service provision, and ability to develop and support the implementation of new processes and systems
- Experience of producing written reports in both an academic and a professional context
- Experience of data management/data analytics
- Ability to quickly understand and interpret the particular challenges faced by a manufacturing SME
- Ability to audit and select the most relevant management theories to apply to a range of challenges in a business setting

£32,900 to £36,000 per annum
