Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer I, you will be instrumental in the creation, development, and maintenance of our software applications. While you might be at the beginning of your career, at HopHR, we provide the right platform for young engineers like you to make a difference. You will work closely with our seasoned technical advisors, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver top-notch software solutions.

Responsibilities:

Software Development (50%):

Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications
Collaborate with the team to design, code, test, and debug software functionalities and applications
Contribute to our web development projects, applying knowledge in frameworks and tools as you learn them
Document technical details, participate in the creation of high-level design documentation, and employ business process modeling techniques

Learning and Collaboration (20%):

Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to expand your knowledge base

Collaborate with senior software engineers and engage in knowledge transfer sessions to sharpen your skills.

Participate in agile development processes such as Scrum and Kanban

Code Reviews and Quality Assurance (10%):

Engage in code review sessions with peers to ensure code quality and standards
Assist the team in unit testing and ensure that developed features function correctly

Engage with Team and Stakeholders (10%):

Communicate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure software requirements are met
Engage in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to bring forth innovative ideas

Technical Services and Maintenance (10%):

Assist in maintaining our software, hardware, and network architectures
Participate in ensuring the security and integrity of our software solutions

Requirements:

Relevant educational degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
Foundation in programming concepts and languages
Familiarity with any modern web technologies, frameworks, or tools will be an added advantage
Eager to learn and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment
