The School of Computer Science and Statistics is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Computer Science (Software and Systems).

The School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin is a collegiate, friendly, and research-intensive centre for academic study and research excellence.

The School has successfully secured funding under the HEA Human Capital Initiative, Pillar 3, to develop an innovative Software Engineering strand running through its undergraduate Computer Science curriculum. The School of Computer Science and Statistics is seeking to appoint an Assistant Professor in Computer Science (Software and Systems), two year, fixed-term contract. The purpose of the post is to assist with the development and delivery of a software engineering curriculum to meet the needs of the target learner cohort and identified stakeholders. The employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as this employment is for the purpose stated above. If the sustainability of the programme is viable beyond the term of the contract, any resulting post will be filled by open competition.

The successful candidate will be an excellent researcher and lecturer with an emerging international research track record and clear potential for research leadership. They should have a strong commitment to research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a demonstrated capacity/potential to attract research funding and develop a world-class research programme.

Applications are encouraged from candidates working in the area of, but not limited to, software engineering (formal methods, model-driven software engineering, empirical software engineering, automated software engineering, software analysis, configuration and optimization, design-space exploration) with a genuine commitment to the role of teaching software engineering at undergraduate and postgraduate. The successful applicant will have a primary degree and a Ph.D. in Computer Science or another subject with a strong software engineering component.
