About role
Platform Engineers design, build, and maintain core infrastructure supporting various software applications and services. Collaborating across diverse teams, including software developers, data engineers, IT operations, and network engineers, they ensure platform stability, scalability, and performance. Their responsibilities encompass constructing and deploying servers, databases, and networks using advanced technologies and industry standards. Additionally, they monitor and troubleshoot issues and actively contribute to capacity planning, security assessments, and disaster recovery to ensure reliability. Continuous improvement through staying updated on industry trends is vital. Proficiency in problem-solving, communication, and collaboration is key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Data Engineers on evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and tools for the project
- Setting up and configuring the development, production, and other required environments
- Defining and implementing security measures according to best practices
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Documenting operational aspects of platforms
- Conducting training and knowledge-sharing
- Azure infrastructure management for AI workloads (VMs, GPU instances, Virtual Networks, Azure AI Search, OpenAI, Azure ML)
- CI/CD pipelines for deploying AI models and services (Azure DevOps)
- Proficiency in scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python)
- Containerization and orchestration for AI applications (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS with GPU support)
- Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform)
- Monitoring and logging (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics for AI model performance)
- Previous AI experience (e.g., RAG application development) is a plus
